Customer Background

A large chemical plant faced severe corrosion and high-temperature issues with the sealing system of its reactor, where traditional O-rings were failing to perform under these harsh conditions. This led to frequent replacements and high maintenance costs. The plant primarily deals with reactions involving strong acids and bases, often operating at temperatures exceeding 200°C.


Solution

  • Requirement Analysis: We engaged in multiple in-depth discussions with the client to thoroughly understand their specific needs, including extreme working temperatures (exceeding 200°C), types of chemicals involved, and precise sealing requirements.

  • Material Selection: Based on these conditions, we recommended using FPM (Viton), known for its excellent resistance to both high temperatures and chemical corrosion, perfectly suited for such demanding applications.

  • Design and Simulation: Utilizing advanced CAD software, we meticulously calculated the required dimensions, shapes, and tolerances of the O-rings. Through computer simulations, we predicted the performance under actual working conditions, ensuring the design was both rational and reliable.

  • Sample Production and Testing: To validate our design, we produced a batch of samples and subjected them to rigorous testing, including temperature resistance, pressure resistance, and chemical stability tests, all conducted according to international standards.

  • Feedback and Adjustment: Based on initial test results, we made minor adjustments to optimize the product's performance. After several iterations, we finalized the design and proceeded to mass production.
